New York City from October 27th, 2017 through January 7th, 2018. FREE ADMISSION Volez, Voguez, Voyagez

The Louis Vuitton Exhibition - Volez, Voguez, Voyagez showcases the history of Louis Vuitton along with quintessential pieces of the brand dating back to the 1860’s. Throughout the exhibition, guests are exposed to the juxtaposition between the vintage products versus the newly crafted innovations from the Louis Vuitton brand.

After the death of Louis Vuitton, Georges Vuitton son took over the family Business incorporating the Monogram. This helped create the brand's exclusivity while simultaneously preventing counterfeits.

1860s Trunk: Vuitton’s innovation emerged when he recreated trunks to have a flap top which became more efficient by being stackable.

The above was designed to keep insects away and hold thirty pairs of shoes.

Louis Vuitton recreated trunks, handbags, and luggage to incorporate shoe racks, bookshelves, drawers, and even dressers with iron boards in his travel bags.

Vuitton’s innovations demonstrated exclusivity because he provided his clients with personalized and customized products for travel. His clientele reached from Audrey Hepburn, Christian Dior, Ernest Hemingway, and Jessie Woolworth.

Trunk above was designed for Actress Greta Garbo's -- Salvatore Ferragamo shoe collection.

Library Trunk: Louis Vuitton even created trunks for books which was not exclusively for travel but also for home placements.

Suitcase in Crocodile Skin: One of my favorite pieces of the exhibit belonged to Jessie Woolwoorth. The case was made with up to three crocodiles alongside the craftsmanship of Cartier and Tiffany &Co to create the bottles and cases for makeup. The cost of a customized Louis Vuitton bag began at 100,000, now imagine the cost after the Crocodile skin and the collaboration with luxury jewelry makers.

2017 Collaboration with Supreme: Louis Vuitton created several collector's pieces with Supreme. This collaboration demonstrates huge brand exclusivity because merchandise has only been released to high clients of Louis Vuitton. The resale of these products goes as high as 30k.

1996-2004 Marc Jacobs: Fashion designer Marc Jacobs served 16 years as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs was a huge influence to the brand by incorporate modern and less traditional styles into the Vuitton merchandise.

Overall, Volez, Voguez, Voyagez does an excellent job in illustrating the vision and path taken from Louis Vuitton. During the exhibit, guests will be able to see how Louis Vuitton continues to enrich craftsmanship and innovation in their modern products.
